As a member of the Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF), the Northern Ontario Hockey Association (NOHA) is reminding all players, families, and participants that Saturday, February 15 is Team Official Announcement Day. Team Official Announcement Day is when clubs can officially introduce their teams’ coaching staff — inclusive of all bench staff (head coach, assistant coaches, trainers, and manager) — for the upcoming 2025-2026 season.
The wait comes as the OHF reviews player movement processes before finalizing coaching eligibility. The processes around Player Movement and Team Official Announcement Day are put in place to ensure fairness across all Members, Associations, and teams.
On February 15, players, families, and participants can check Member Association websites and social media for Team Official announcements.
The OHF made important updates to the Player Movement regulations to ensure fairness, consistency, and clarity across all Members and Associations.
These changes aim to provide improved guidelines for player transfers, support player development, and ensuring the sport remains fun, inclusive, and accessible for everyone involved.
