Team NOHA falls to the Vaughan Kings

Toronto, ON – Team NOHA’s comeback attempt against the Vaughan Kings came up just short, falling 3-2 on Wednesday evening.

Team NOHA opened the scoring at the 7:31 mark of the first period courtesy of a Pacey Schlueting power play goal that fooled the glove of the Vaughan netminder.

Vaughan quickly answered with a goal of their own to knot the game up at ones.

The second period saw the Kings score two goals within a minute to go up 3-1.

Team NOHA did not roll over, generating many glorious chances, including a Justin Mauro goal that brought the North within one of the Kings.

Despite some excellent pressure by Team NOHA in the third period, including an opportunity to tie the game on the power play with the net empty, they could not convert.

Owen Kilganon made twenty-five saves in the contest, recording the loss.

Schlueting’s one-goal game was enough to earn him the Player of the Game honours for Team NOHA.

Team NOHA will try to rebound in their next game, which is March 15, 10:15 AM at the Scotiabank Pond (Ice #1) vs. the Oakville Ranger. The Rangers were the Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) Bronze Medalists and are currently 0-1-1, playing to a 3-2 loss against the Peterborough Jr. Petes and to a 2-2 tie against the Kings.
