Volunteers Wanted: NOHA Ad Hoc Committees

The Northern Ontario Hockey Association is seeking volunteers for three new ad hoc committees. Each committee will gather input from our Member Associations and make recommendations to the NOHA Board of Directors. If you care about the future of hockey in Northern Ontario and are open to new ideas, we want to hear from you.
2027 AGM PLANNING AD HOC COMMITTEE
Attendance at the AGM is now mandatory, and associations invest real time and money to attend. This committee will recommend the structure of the 2027 AGM weekend in Timmins, June 11 and 12, 2027, including workshops aimed at the betterment of hockey in Northern Ontario. It will consult every Member Association to find out what would make the weekend worth the trip.

REPRESENTATIVE LEAGUE STRUCTURE AD HOC COMMITTEE
Placing Representative teams where they get appropriate competition, while keeping travel reasonable across our geography, is an ongoing challenge. This committee will review how Rep league play is organized across NOHA and consider new approaches, including seeded league models. We are looking for people with an open mind about how programming could be structured.

U9 PROGRAMMING REVIEW AD HOC COMMITTEE
This committee's goal is to return U9 hockey in NOHA to what it is meant to be: fun and development for the athlete. It will recommend how NOHA and its Member Associations can ensure, to the best of their ability, that every U9 player has a positive experience, regardless of the tier they play in.
