NOHA Representatives Head to Ontario Summer Games

The Northern Ontario Hockey Association (NOHA) is proud to recognize eight outstanding representatives who have been selected to participate in the 2026 Ontario Summer Games, taking place July 29 – August 2 in Waterloo, ON.

Several athletes with Northern Ontario roots have earned the opportunity to compete alongside and against some of the province’s top young hockey talent at this highly competitive event, highlighting the continued strength and development of hockey across the region. Among those selected are four players who will compete within the NOHA for the 2026–2027 season.

Bailey Scott – 2026–2027 North Bay Trappers U16 AAA

Benjamin Clayton – 2026–2027 Soo Jr. Greyhounds U16 AAA

Lukas Maninos – 2026–2027 Soo Jr. Greyhounds U16 AAA

Hayden Brason-Doan – 2026–2027 Soo Jr. Greyhounds U16 AAA

In addition, four NOHA bench staff members have been selected to contribute their leadership and expertise:

Steve Vachon – Timmins

Dave Losier – Kapuskasing

Max Rivet – North Bay

Elliot Richardson – Sudbury

At the Ontario Summer Games, the 120 players will be divided into six teams and compete in a tournament-style championship. The event also serves as the first evaluation opportunity for athletes aiming to earn a spot on Team Ontario for the 2027 Canada Winter Games in Quebec City, QC.

Selection to the Ontario Summer Games is a significant accomplishment and reflects the dedication, work ethic, and commitment demonstrated by each athlete and staff member throughout the season.

The NOHA continues to play an important role in developing athletes and coaches across Northern Ontario, and representation at this level is a testament to the strength of hockey within the region.

The NOHA congratulates Bailey, Benjamin, Lukas, Hayden, Steve, Dave, Max, and Elliot and wishes them the very best as they represent Northern Ontario on the provincial stage.
