North Bay Trappers Wrap Up First Place During Midget AAA Regional Round Robin


The North Bay & District Trappers have finished in the top spot of Round Robin play at the Midget AAA Regional Championships in Bowmanville.

Day One of play saw the Trappers tie the Toronto Young Nationals 1-1 with a goal by Jesse Kirby.

On Day Two, the Trappers played the Elgin Middlesex Chiefs, gaining a shut-out win with three goals by Cole Goode, Justin Dauphinaise, and Eric Lafontaine, with goaltender Benjamin Gaudreau stopping all 30 shots by the Chiefs.

Day Three’s game against the Host Clarington Toros began with an impressive lead, resulting in a final score of 4-2 for the Trappers, with goals by Ben Brunette, Justin Dauphinaise, Zach Lefebvre, and a short-hander by Noah Lagrandeur in the third period.

The Trappers’ final Round Robin game against the Kingston Frontenacs resulted in a 3-3 tie, which put the Trappers in first overall. Goals were scored by Gavin Brown, Nathaniel Lalonde, and Joseph Jordan.

The Semi-Final game begins at 3:00pm on Saturday, April 6th. The Trappers’ opponent has yet to be decided.
