The NOHA is saddened to hear the news of the passing of previous NOHA President Andrew Macdonald, and send our thoughts and prayers to his family and friends. He was a dedicated hockey volunteer, and will be missed by all.

The Macdonald Family has created a Fund in Andrew's name in lieu of flowers.

Andrew Macdonald Keep Kids in Hockey Fund

"This fund is honour of the man Andrew was all about and that is the Kids. If ANY CHILD who wants to play hockey but cant afford to within the NEHL ( Any association) will be able to, anything to make sure that if a child wants to play hockey they can and will be able to."

Congratulations to this season's NOHA Awards Winners!

Hockey wouldn't be possible without our volunteers. We are proud to present this season's esteemed Award Winners.

The Angus Campbell Merit Award, named after the founder of the Northern Ontario Hockey Association, is an order of merit in hockey, awarded by the NOHA, to an individual for outstanding service to the game other than as a player.

Gayle Payette has been a long-serving volunteer of the NOHA, an NOHA Vice President, and currently serves on the OHF Board of Directors. Congratulations, Gayle!

This award is to be presented to a person or association which has been instrumental in the area of development within the NOHA. The award can be given to an individual involved in Coaching, Refereeing, Training or the Initiation Programs, one who has developed a program which has been incorporated to the benefit of hockey or a person who has dedicated a great deal of time and effort to development within the NOHA.

Steven Polyblank has devoted many years in service of the development of young hockey players, including Team NOHA, and currently coaches the Timmins Majors U18 AAA team. Congratulations, Steve!

We would also like to thank Past President Claudette Myre for her many years of service and dedication. Claudette has been a tireless advocate for minor hockey in Northern Ontario, and her dedication has been second to none.

Thanks also to the Timmins Economic Development Corporation for their assistance in hosting the Annual General Meeting, alongside Timmins Minor Hockey Association and Porcupine Minor Hockey Association.

The NOHA Annual General Meeting was held on May 6th, 2023. Please find a summary of the Motions below.

More information, including a Freedom of Movement FAQ, will be provided in the coming weeks.
