Truth & Reconciliation Game to be played in Timmins
On September 30th, the Timmins Major and Kapuskasing Icehawks will play a Truth & Reconciliation game. Each year, September 30th marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day. On this day, we honour the children who never made it home and survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. Public commemoration of the tragic, painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation

Virtual Checking Clinics
The NOHA will be hosting two virtual Checking Clinics for both players and coaches to learn more about body checking. These clinics will be free of charge for NOHA participants. NOHA Green Armband Initiative
The NOHA will be spearheading the Green Armband Initiative this season for officials under the age of 18 in an effort to reduce the harassment and abuse of hockey officials. All officials under the age of 18 will wear a green armband on their left arm to raise awareness that the harassment and abuse of officials will not be tolerated. OSN Officials Bursary Program
The Ontario Sport Network (OSN) is launching a comprehensive plan for referee and official recruitment and retention, including a province-wide promotional and funding initiative. The Officials Bursary Program is available to many sports across the province, putting officials in the spotlight!
