  • NOHA Official of the Month - Kyra Bolton

    Congratulations to the NOHA's Official of the Month for January, 2024, Kyra Bolton of North Bay! Kyra ,15, is currently in her first year as an official with the NOHA where she has skated at the U9 level and has excelled while doing so. Kyra is also a player on the North Bay Junior Lakers U18 BB team. Amazing work, Kyra, and thank you for your contributions to the NOHA Officiating Program! As Official of the Month, Kyra will receive an NOHA prize pack. Do you know an Official between the ages of 14-17 who deserves to be recognized? Make sure to nominate them for Official of the Month!   • Team NOHA OHL Cup Game 4 Recap

    Team NOHA'S run at the OHL Cup came to an end last night after dropping the contest against the Barrie Colts by a score of 5-0. Sebastien Brassard was again a bright spot, doing everything in his power to keep Team NOHA in the game through two periods. Brassard made way in the third period to Kalia Pharand, who got her first action of the tournament stopping all 17 shots she faced. Mason Walker was named MVP of the game. The NOHA would like to congratulate all players on representing themselves and the NOHA in an impressive manner. Thank you to our Team Staff, including Coaches, Trainers, and scout staff, who put months of hard work into the assembly of this Team. Team NOHA finished the 2024 OHL Cup with a record of 2-2.

  • Ken Miller Memorial Award for Most Deserving Official

    The NOHA is proud to announce that the NOHA Most Deserving Official Award will be renamed the Ken Miller Memorial Award. Ken Miller was a longtime contributor to the NOHA Officiating Program serving as Director of Officials from 1988-1996 and as an Officiating Coach for many seasons up until his passing in 2024. Ken was also the recipient of the OHF Officiating Award in 2006 and the Hockey Canada Officiating Award in 2007. The Ken Miller Memorial Award is given annually to an Official who played a key role in the Officiating Program within their District; someone who would be sorely missed if they were no longer involved, an Officiating Coach who is always willing to go out and supervise younger Officials, or a person who has assisted with the assigning, instruction, and administration at Development Camps.

  • Team NOHA OHL Cup Game 3 Recap

    Team NOHA is back in the win column! Team NOHA is back on track with a game 3 win over The Ottawa Valley Titans. Sebastien Brassard was again tapped with the start and continued his strong efforts making 18 saves on 21 shots. Goals by Brady Real, Lex Lamontagne, Benjamin Brunton, Maverick Hill, and Liam Watson. Player of the game went to Maverick Hill. Team NOHA is back at it tonight at 7:00 pm in a tilt against the Barrie Colts.

  • Team NOHA OHL Cup Day 2

    Team NOHA dropped a hard fought battle by a score of 4-1 to the Mississauga Rebels this afternoon. Maverick Hill scored the lone marker for Team NOHA with assists going to Logan Rivard and Cole Wreggitt. Carson Ruddy was excellent in goal, giving Team NOHA a chance throughout. Game MVP honours go to Mason Walker. We would like to congratulate Kalia Pharand from the U16 Sudbury Wolves, who has been called to join the Team NOHA roster.

  • Team NOHA OHL Cup Day 1

    Team NOHA starts the OHL Cup off with a strong effort, earning themselves a 4-2 victory against a strong Elgin-Middlesex Club. Lex Lamontagne lit the lamp twice in the contest, including the game winner. Earning game MVP honors. Benjamin Brunton and Logan Rivard had the other two Team NOHA goals. Assists in this game came off the sticks of Dawson Morris, Ashton Pitawanakwat, and Edan Etheridge. Sebastien Brassard had a strong effort in net stopping 25 of 27. Team NOHA will look to continue their strong start with a Tuesday match up against the Mississauga Rebels. Puck drop is 11:30 AM.

    NOHA U12-U15 Teams to Play Interlocking Schedule with OMHA/Alliance in 2024/2025 The Northern Ontario Hockey Association (NOHA) is pleased to announce that the U12 to U15 AAA Teams from North Bay and Sudbury will participate in an interlocking schedule with the Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) while Sault Ste. Marie U12 to U15 AAA Teams will compete in a partial schedule versus Teams from ALLIANCE Hockey beginning the 2024-2025 season. Teams from North Bay and Sudbury will play a total of nine (9) games each against OMHA competition, while Teams from Sault Ste. Marie will participate in 11 games against ALLIANCE Hockey Teams. “The NOHA and its Member Associations is grateful to the OMHA, the OMHA AAA League, and to ALLIANCE Hockey and their Teams for their support in allowing our Teams to play against additional competition beginning next season,” stated NOHA President, Brian Beaupre.  “With the U12 to U15 Divisions in the NOHA made up of either three (3) or four (4) Teams, these additional games will provide different competition for these athletes.” “We are looking forward to welcoming North Bay and Sudbury to play games against OMHA teams. We believe this will only enhance the regular season schedule in our OMHA AAA League for teams,” said Craig Lane, OMHA President. “Thank you to the NOHA for their support in this initiative.” “The ALLIANCE Hockey AAA Teams are thrilled to include the Sault Ste. Marie Teams in the ALLIANCE Hockey AAA League as of the 2024-25 season.   • Team NOHA Heads to the OHL Cup!

    Team NOHA is set to travel to Toronto this weekend in preparation for the OHL Cup that will begin Monday. The roster consists of seventeen skaters, two goaltenders. Team NOHA is guaranteed four games, in which they will play for a right to advance to Thursdays playoff round.
